Yes, it was another one of those days where we did some state hopping! After spending one full week in the huge state of Texas, our next destination was Colorado Springs to visit friends. (It took us another day to get out of Texas!) We crossed the border into New Mexico, right near the Oklahoma state line. Since the boys have not been in the state of Oklahoma, we took a short detour to enter the state at the Panhandle. We stopped at a picnic area and enjoyed our lunch alongside the windy plains.
After lunch, we headed back into New Mexico, increasing altitude, to visit a high-adventure Boy Scout camp and its accompanying museum. We were told that over 22,000 Boy Scouts will hike the trails this summer. What beautiful country to be hiking!
