COLORADO (still) ... NEW MEXICO (again), UTAH, & ARIZONA

4 STATES IN ONE DAY!

From the Ute reservation, we headed west and entered the Navajo reservation in New Mexico.  Within five minutes, our GPS told us we were not only in New Mexico but back into Colorado as well as entering Utah and Arizona ALL AT THE SAME TIME …. 4 Corners National Monument

We had fun here … we were all in different states for a few minutes!

I even had parts of me in different states!

Each of us had our turn to be in all 4 states at once:

After taking pictures, we thought we were done; but we couldn’t resist perusing the numerous Navajo vendors who were selling their crafts.

We were considering visiting some national parks in Utah but changed our route.  I know Bryce and Zion would be marvelous sites to visit, but they will just have to wait.  So, due to our itinerary, this was the only time Eagle Boy and Youngest Child were in Utah:

College Girl has been to Utah before when she was around 9 years old, but this is it for her on this trip, too:

The guys spent more time shopping the Navajo vendors than we did, so we did some state hopping -- literally!   :)

College Girl was in Utah while I was in New Arizona!  Silly, fun stuff!

Since we spent more time than expected at Four Corners National Monument (and a variety of combinations in these four states due to the shopping of all the vendors), we didn’t make it to the Grand Canyon the same day.  After endless miles of no towns in the high desert (with exception to the town of Kenwaya near Monument Valley), we called it quits early and found the only RV park between the NM/AZ border and the Grand Canyon. It was in Tuba City on the Navajo Reservation, and we visited the Code Talker Museum next door.

(Do you see Youngest Child inside?)

We didn’t visit Monument Valley, but we noticed some of the amazing structures from the highway on which we were traveling.

Next morning, we were at the Grand Canyon and enjoyed phenomenal views of this natural wonder.

(Take note that I am dressed for the occasion with my "strata skirt."  haha)

Picture-taking opportunities were limitless here .... I had to threaten the boys with several months' grounding to not step one inch off the paved trails.  ;-)   No picture is worth risking a life!

We watched a movie in the visitor center, and I was surprised to learn that Native Americans lived in this canyon as well.

This was the culmination of our "rock viewing."  :)   We headed to historic Williams, AZ, for an evening of food, shopping, and a Wild West show before leaving this state.

That was our finale for Arizona.  California, here we come
